Staying with one of our friendly German host families

Integration into family life is essential to make the student’s stay in the country enjoyable and to make the learning process complete. Living with a family gives students the opportunity to practise what they have learned during the lessons. What could be a better way of putting what you have learned into practice than discussing your plans for the day with your homestay family at the breakfast table, experiencing their way of life, or telling them about your home country over dinner? Whoever lives with a German homestay family gains more than just an insight into a new culture: we find suitable families for our students according to age, hobbies and personal wishes, and friendships for life are often formed.

All families meet our standards: the houses are comfortable, the hosts are welcoming and, above all, are genuinely interested in receiving young guests! Students share the family’s way of life by having breakfast and dinner with them, and joining in other activities such as sports and discussions. A packed lunch is eaten at school.
ADK also ensures that each pupil gets the maximum opportunity to practise their language by not accommodating two students of the same mother tongue in the same home.

We send you the address of your homestay family for the duration of your stay in Augsburg and other important information after you enrol.

Shared student apartments

Upon request, we can also organize sharehouse accommodation for you (mostly with other students, from EUR 300,00 per month). Please note that the standard of this accommodation can vary greatly (with regard to furniture) and that communal living requires flexibility and tolerance. On the other hand, you can profit greatly from this experience by learning more about the country and its people, and improving your daily conversation skills.

Private apartment / holiday apartment

If you would rather live alone, we can also arrange a private apartment for you. Most of these apartments lie in the centre of the city or a maximum of 20 minutes from the school by bus. This accommodation is only available for the duration of your ADK course. Private apartments (of a very high standard, with laundry facilities) are available to rent from EUR 450,00 per month (some apartments are only offered by professional agencies at a daily price, from EUR 35,00). They have a bathroom and kitchen and are completely furnished (with hand towels and bedsheets, cooking utensils etc.).

Hotel / bed and breakfast

You can choose between guest houses and hotels of different price categories (from EUR 50,00 to EUR 150,00). The prices include breakfast.

A nice and friendly backpacker hostel is near the school!
